Why do all black people look a like? You may agree with this article or you may not, just make sure you read everything before you make a personal decision. But, now, I would like to pose that question in a different way....DO all black people REALLY look alike? The answer to that question is both "yes" and "no." Yes, because probably if a person has never been around or apart of the black culture then they probably just can't figure it out! I mean seriously, how can you? Blacks all have darker skin, darker eyes, dark hair.... and, well, just everything looks so similar. However, if you were to ask someone who is apart of the black culture (or been around), their response would probably be....Are you kidding me? Blacks all look entirely different. They have different shades, features, hair color, size and eye color.
Personally, I can tell the difference between Africans, Black Americans, Haitian, Dominicans and...well you get the point. However, when some of the whites I know come up to me and start showing me pictures of their babies, I get very confused. To me, although white babies are beautiful, I honestly can not tell them apart. I have an extremely hard time pretty much identifying many whites or any one outside of my own culture. (And yes, many other blacks have a hard time distinguishing whites and others as well). But, if you say that to a white individual, a common response would be...."Of course we don't all look alike, we all have different hair color, eye color and pretty much everything is different."
Now before anyone goes off on a tangent and says this is a horrible thing to say, read my next statement....We ALL look somewhat alike. Seriously, we do. The thing that people can not seem to grasp is that, if a person is not apart of another culture and/or has not spent time around different people, then more than likely that other race or culture will all look the same to them. It is not racist....just true. And as we Americans are sitting there looking at the Asian culture and going...."How can you tell the difference between a Chinese and a Japenese person?" I GUARENTEE you that they will be able to tell you the difference between any Asian. But, just in case you are wondering....yes...most Asians look at us and think both blacks AND whites look exactly the same. Wait but there is more...
At this point you probably have seen the beautiful black and white cats that are included in this blog. One of those cats just happens to be my beloved animal and the other two, I just found randomly when I was browsing cute animal pics (My sincere apologies to the person who clicks on this blog and recognizes one or both of these as their cat on this page). Now, if a person sat back and looked at all these cats and they were being honest with themselves, they may think they are cute, but seriously, if you threw them in a room with 100 of these adorable cats, they would get very confused. However, when I am looking at my cat, even if he were in a room with 1,000 other little cats, I would be able to pick him out instantly. Why? Because I know him and I have been around him. And although his spots and coloring may look the same to everyone else....I can tell you NO WAY! He may have the same coloring, but his spots are completely different from all of the rest.
Now, hopefully at this point, you realize what I am saying, and that if someone else thinks this or says these statements, maybe you can understand that, although we all have individual personalities and small things that make us unique, we are all more similar than we think. Just like those cats....
And the next time you are looking at someone and thinking...holy crap that is one UGLY person, just remember that a person who does not identify with your culture may probably mistake you for that person you just called ugly. And if you are ever sitting around a bunch of people that are different from you and thinking...holy crap...they all look alike.....Just know that more than likely they are thinking the same thing about you.
You can take this article anyway you want, but when it all boils down to it, we as human beings are special individuals, but in a huge sense, we are all more similar than we would like to admit. After all, didn't God create us in his own image?
"So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them, Genesis 1:27."
And if in fact you believe this is true, then if you are looking at yourself or another individual and calling yourself or them ugly, then it is an insult to God's creation. If he created man in his own image, he would not create something imperfect.....At least in his eyes. And just like I can pick out my cat from others, God can tell each and every one of us apart. He knows all of our spots and character flaws...
"And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don't be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows Luke 12:7."
So, the next time you have a thought about how certain races/ethnicities look the same....it is probably true. We are ALL created in the image of God and regardless of what someone else says , God would never make something in his own image that HE thought was less than perfect. And if God can recognize me from those who can not, and he created me in his image, then that means more to me than anything. Not another persons conclusion that Blacks all look alike.
And honestly....God's opinion is the ONLY thing that truly matters....
