TOP THINGS YOU NEVER SAY TO A BLACK GAL!

AMERICA....the land of the free, the home of IGNORANCE. Below, I have listed some of the most common things you may not want to say to a black woman.....

#6.
"I am super hungry, I bet you can cook up some good fried chicken!"

EXPLANATION:  This may shock you but, a WHOLE lot of folks like fried chicken. Fried chicken is a UNIVERSAL favorite food. If you do not believe me, I strongly encourage you to stop by your neighborhood Sports Bars. Let me know what you see. People really need to stop thinking that only black people eat or cook fried chicken.

FACT:  Now that you know this bit of shocking information, I figured I would let you know another secret....not all black women can cook....and that includes good fried chicken. The next time you have a craving for fried chicken....call your local KFC!

#5.
"Why do you always have such a bad attitude?"

Really? Since when is standing up for your personal belief and not allowing people to take advantage of you considered having a bad attitude?  Strange....when a non black woman,  shows these characteristics, people either do not acknowledge it, or ask them why are they acting so black?

Heaven forbid, if s black women has any neck movement!!!! Better run because that bad attitude  is coming in full force. (I wonder how many people reading this article believe I am angry? I am honestly just keeping it real).

Look folks, yes it is true that many black women come across a little overbearing, but honestly we are usually just being STRONG black women.

And, if people correlate strength with being a black woman......Thanks! I am honored.

#4.
"Is that your real hair?"

EXPLANATION:  It is none of your business what is real versus fake on any woman. If it looks good....it looks good. If it looks horrible, unless you are a very close friend or family, I would definitely encourage you to keep your mouth closed. If she bought it...it is her hair, or whoever purchased it.

FACT: Now that I explained that to you, I thought I would let it be known that just because you see a black woman with nice hair, does not mean it is fake.

FACT: All women enjoy changing their looks routinely....and guess what ???? There are many women that are not black (white women included) that wear extensions!! Surprised? You should not be. If you have ever taken a science course, you would know that hair growth is a combination of genetics and how well a person cares for it. Our hair grows...

FACT:  Many hairstyles that you may consider ghetto, is actually cultural. DO NOT GET ME WRONG, I do find some hairstyles to be outrageous, but I can not help but wonder if sometimes I feel that way because our American culture has led me to that conclusion. I still strongly believe that most black women have been conditioned to think that straight hair is prettier because it looks more.....American....or white?

FACT:  Many black women damage their hair with excessive chemicals to achieve straight hair, simply because America says it is more beautiful. I would  strongly encourage other women to use other methods instead of chemicals if they prefer straight hair.

FACT:  Many people who read this blog will sit  and wonder, "Why don't black women just express their culture and shut up? "

FACT:  Employers are less likely to hire a black woman who  does not have straight hair, therefore penalizing black women for wearing their hair natural....If you do not believe this is true....you can research it, or just ask your black girlfriend.

#3.
"Did you know you resemble Jessica Simpson?"

EXPLANATION:  I am just using Jessica Simpson as an example. You can insert any non black celebrity you choose. I understand that people are trying to compliment, but.......ummmmmm...HELLO SHE IS WHITE! When people make silly statements like this, it feeds into the false research that suggests, if a black woman is pretty, then she has to resemble an individual with European features.

BOTTOM LINE:  Most people would never compare a pretty white woman to a pretty black woman. America has already made their standards of beauty obvious. We do not need any additional feedback.

NEVER compare.....

#2.
You are pretty for a black girl...what are you mixed with?

If you really want to be technical then, yes, she probably is mixed. BUT.... so are you!!!!!

FACT:  Black women come in different shapes, sizes and shades. Many people assume that a woman is mixed or not black, if they find her attractive. I know this may sound bogus, but, she may be a product of two black parents. Sorry to disappoint anyone.

DO NOT WORRY, just because you have spotted some cute black chicks, does not mean you have a fetish.

BOTTOM LINE:  Beauty comes in every race, size and shape.

#1.
"Can I touch your hair?"

This is the number one rule of all. I understand that white ladies may enjoy having their hair touched.....however,

NEVER, NEVER, NEVER (with the exception of her hair stylist) touch a black woman's hair....EVER!

If you do, expect number 5 to occur...Good Luck!

" My people perish from a lack of knowledge (Hosea 4: 6 (KJV)."

Author's note: I do not refer to blacks as African American, because not every black person in America comes from Africa. And if you would like to get technical, we are all African Americans (from sub-Sahara Africa - see http://www.reuters.com/article/2007/07/18/us-evolution-skulls-idUSL1885586220070718). Yikes!!! I am pretty sure that last revelation probably hurt someones feelings. I mean it has got to be devastating news to discover that you are actually African American. My condolences....

Please forward this if you are devastated....
