"HOW DO I LOOK?"

This is the most common question that people ask their friends and family before they go out. Unfortunately, most of the time the people you ask, are LYING to you. Many people think they will hurt your feelings if they tell you the cold hard truth that your outfit is just wrong. Whatever the case may be, there is a time in every person's life that they need a real friend. Someone who will actually tell you that what you are wearing is a complete NO NO NO....!

Today, that honest friend will be me. There are billions of fashion crimes committed every second. However, their appears be a  MAJOR misunderstanding of the correct way to use and wear plaid. It can be nice and stylish, but some folks have taken plaid to an unhealthy level.....

SIDE NOTE: Read the entire article for tips on how to get it right! Good luck!

HOW DO YOU KNOW IF
YOU ARE ABUSING YOUR PLAID PRIVILEGES?

#5.
"IF YOUR CAR LOOKS LIKE THIS..."

YOU ARE A PLAID  ABUSER!

This is just wrong folks. Well, you probably will not get a ticket for driving something like this, BUT, you will definitely get the attention that you are seeking for. Plaid is rad, just not on your car. Stick to the solid colors when you are choosing the color of your car. And if you are a parent, please refrain from giving your teenage son or daughter a vehicle that looks identical to this. I understand that wheels are wheels, but at some point we have to realize that some things are just not gifts if they are going to cause you severe social and self-esteem problems.

Red cars typically get pulled over more often, but if you are driving something like this, you can bet your lucky numbers, you will get pulled over.....

"IF YOUR HOUSE LOOKS LIKE THIS...."

YOU ARE A PLAID  ABUSER!

Plaid should be WORN ON YOU, NOT YOUR HOUSE! If your neighbors do not like you now, paint your house in plaid and you will become the ultimate enemy. And if you happen to have an HOA, I would like to know which HOA allowed you to paint your home this color. I would also like to bet that it would cost a pretty penny to pay a painting company to do all of this "special plaid art."

"IF YOUR SOCKS LOOK LIKE THIS..."

YOU ARE A PLAID  ABUSER!

Socks should never resemble tattoos. Just because the brand is Prada does not mean you should buy it. Just because you CAN afford it, does not mean you should.

SIDE NOTE: The purple pumps are not helping this plaid situation.

#2.
"IF YOU HAVE A TATTOO LIKE THIS..."

 YOU ARE A PLAID  ABUSER!

A tattoo is very permanent folks! You can try to get it removed but chances are, it is very expensive and it will leave scars. If you want to wear plaid in crazy bizarre ways, that is fine, but you may want to stay away from something so permanent.

YOU HAVE TAKEN PLAID  TO AN UNHEALTHY LEVEL..

I understand you love plaid but, I am not so sure that this is the best way to show your devotion. Tattooing yourself is one thing, but this is a completely different level of plaid gone bad. Please continue....

REAL FRIENDS DON'T LET FRIENDS ABUSE PLAID !

TIPS ON HOW TO WEAR PLAID !

  • Never wear plaid everywhere. It looks overdone and tacky.
  • There should always be a balance in the plaid that you wear. If you wear a plaid shirt, DO NOT WEAR PLAID ON THE BOTTOM!  Try a solid color with the plaid.
  • Plaid should go in ONE direction. Do not wear a horizontal plaid shirt and a vertical plaid bottom, vice verse.
