 MANY ACCOUNTS THAT EXIST
ON FACEBOOK ARE FAKE!

In recent news, reports have continuously been made on how many "fake" social accounts there are. Facebook released the information that more than 83 million accounts were under a false  name. Overall, Facebook has reported having 955 million users. Some of the accounts were "duplicate" accounts, while other accounts were opened under even a family pets' name amongst others. According to a spokesperson, this is just a tiny setback that will quickly resolve itself.

"Authentic identity is important to the Facebook experience, and our goal is that every account on Facebook should represent a real person," the spokesperson said.

This week Facebook has begun to remove thousands of fake accounts and false likes. They are hoping to improve their quality and  gain trust among the population. However, Facebook has a job cut out for them, since many of the accounts are under middle names and fictitious character names.

The name you use should be your real name as it would be listed on your credit card," Facebook says. "Pretending to be anything or anyone is not allowed."

Many people may read these articles below and think that this is not a big deal, but, they are wrong. If you are currently using a social media that has many false accounts, it is almost a guarantee that the "friends" that you are making are not real. This can also turn into a huge safety threat. Not being able to identify which person you know, can lead to potential identity theft, stalkers and disclosure of  personal information that you choose not to disclose on Facebook.

TIPS ON FACEBOOK:
  • Never open up an account under a false name. Ask yourself how would you feel if you discovered that the majority of the people who spoke to you, were not real. If you find yourself believing that this is deceitful, then change begins with one person.
  • DO NOT randomly accept people on your Facebook page. When Facebook users began accepting friends, it was generally someone they were acquainted with, but now, it appears that the average person is only interested in showing how happy (false happiness) they are and how many Facebook friends they have.
  • If you do not feel comfortable with the whole world seeing something, LEAVE THE IMAGE OFF!
  • Family is family, friends are friends, the time spent with them should be precious and not leaked to the entire world about what you did hour by hour. The fact is, everyone is so caught up trying to be the best through a post, they really are not paying attention to all of the wonderful things that may be happening to you.
BOTTOM LINE:  Social media is amazing when utilized correctly. You can share intimate details with people who do not live in the same zip code. BUT,  if your friends are not really who they say they are, how much are you truly gaining? This is not an article that picks on Facebook by trying to convince users to get off of Facebook, this is to alert people that if Facebook has inaccurate accounts and false items floating around, so do the other top social medias. DO NOT believe this is just a problem that Facebook is facing. They are simply taking the brunt of it because they are the number one social media network.

PEOPLE ARE BECOMING LIMITED TO "ONLY" HAVING FRIENDS
 THROUGH A COMPUTERS

True friends are important, but if they only live in your computer, THEY ARE NOT FRIENDS. With all of the latest technology, people have redefined the meaning of friendship. It used to be if someone you ever knew walked by you a couple of times, those people were your friends. Now, a person can turn on a computer and almost instantaneously find "fake" friends. There is absolutely nothing wrong with maintaining relationships through social media network, but the problem comes in if you post a status somewhere  and no one responds. Lately people have related their self-worth to what others say about them through a computer. This sounds absolutely ridiculous, but it is not any further from the truth.

TIPS ON FRIENDSHIP:
  • A friend is someone who is there in time of need or distraught. You can turn your computer on or off, a friend will always be there. Think about all of the people you currently associate with on these networks, how many of those people would you feel comfortable enough with to share your inner most thoughts and passion?

EVERYTHING YOU
 HEAR IS NOT TRUE!

If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. Do not believe everything that your computer friend tells you. Some of them may be completely honest, but most may be fabricating the details of their lives. Have you ever noticed that everyone who lives in your computer appears to have a better life then you? Well, the same secret I have mentioned before, I will state it again....The dream life that your friends claim to have in order to make others believe something else, is the same dream they want. They just had the guts to self proclaim?

Normally, this would not be such a big deal to announce. You see a fake person, you move on. However, many people are living unhappy lives because the guy named Billy (who you never met) just bought the priciest car ever. Why can't you have it????

If we could we would like to rephrase that question:

Why don't they have it?

BOTTOM LINE:
 Don't believe everything you read!

SOCIAL MEDIA IS WONDERFUL
IF YOU USE IT FOR WHAT
 IS WAS MEANT FOR...

"There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him:haughty eyes, lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood,  a heart that devises wicked schemes,  feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies  and a person who stirs up conflict in the community
(Proverbs 6:16-19)."
